Description
NOTE: DO NOT TRY TO USE THIS DEVICE TO CHARGE THE POWER TOOL BATTERIES. The U-100 is intended for use with your batteries as a 12vdc power source only and is NOT to be used to charge the power tool batteries themselves. Attempts to reverse power and charge the power tool batteries will result in damage to the U-100 and may damage the power tool batteries or possibly start a fire. The buck transformer unit in the U-100 does draw a small amount of maintenance power. Turn the switch to the off position when the device is not in use to avoid transient discharge of the power tool batteries.
Up until now, your expensive lithium power tool batteries were only good for two things… running the one or two tools they came with, and sitting on the shelf gathering dust when they aren’t being used. That’s because the oddball voltages they produce are great for running that tool, but those voltages aren’t standard for much else.
The most common DC voltage configuration for “non power tool applications” is 12 Volts. The 12VDC standard is the most versatile battery output in use today, it is used by just about everything from fish finders, to trolling motors, to automobiles. It is also the standard most often required to power battery inverters that provide portable 115 Volt AC power.
Until now, the common way to carry 12VDC power with you has been to lug a heavy car battery or a mid-sized lead acid battery around. Recently smaller, but very expensive lithium batteries with footprints similar to the lead acid batteries have become available. But if you happen to be one of the millions of people who already has a power tool that came with lithium batteries, you may be able to leave the big car batteries at home and put your power tool batteries to use instead!
Whether you prefer DeWalt Flex-volt, Milwaukee M18, or the much less expensive Bauer power tools battery/tool platforms, the EZ-OffGrid Battery Adapter Power Supply is the tool for you. The ALL NEW 3A Outdoors U-100 Universal Battery adapter turns your cordless tool batteries into a portable 12VDC power source! The compact size of the EZ OffGrid U100 allows you to bring 12V DC power with you wherever you go. Simply attach a compatible power tool battery into the adapter and turn on the switch.
The U-100 has an onboard buck transformer that is designed to convert the DC output of DeWalt 20-60V DC Flex-Volt batteries, or the Milwaukee M18 18V DC batteries, or the 20V DC Bauer lithium batteries to a smooth and consistent 12V DC output at up to 240W.
The patent pending battery interface design allows you to securely insert any of these batteries into our adapter interchangeably. For the Milwaukee batteries you leave the flip up key in the down position and the battery securely clicks into place. If you prefer the DeWalt Flex-Volt or the Bauer batteries, simply flip the key into the up position and the batteries lock in securely to the U-100.
The U-100 is designed to turn these power tool batteries to 12V DC power and provides 2 standard 12VDC power connection options. The two wingnut battery lugs are clearly marked with their polarity identification visible on the side of the U-100 housing, and the 12V DC lighter plug comes with over-draw protection built in. There are 2 bonus USB (5v 3.1 amp) outlets also included for charging cell phones or for running other USB power devices.
A Single DeWalt Flex-Volt 6AH battery powers 3 – 12” led strip lights, 4 UV bait shine-ups and a Vexilar and charges cell phones in our wheel house for more than an entire day.
The U-100 is a very adaptable tool for your bug-out bag or preps.
As a power supply coupled to small 110v inverters, the U-100 can’t be beat. A single DeWalt Flex Volt 6AH battery powers a medium sized television at our trade shows continuously for 3.5 hours. (with a small 110V inverter attached *not included*)
Whether you are an outdoorsy person, a prepper, someone who lives in an area where power outages are common, or just someone who has a need for portable 12VDC for some other application, check this tool out!
